Caucassus Catskiing

This all-inclusive package invites you to one of the most sought-after freeride frontiers in the world: Georgia's Caucasus mountain range.

Welcome to a powder skiing cat-ski expedition that will set every skier and snowboarder's pulse racing, singing, and smiling for the rest of their life.

DEEP POWDER

Experience required.

If you are thinking about booking this trip, please don't overestimate your skills. Freeride experience is required.

Riders need advanced skills to ride all types of snow (including hard and wet snow). You have to have the strength to climb out of a stream bed or dig yourself out of deep snow. Last but not least, you need the necessary self-confidence to ski on fast or steep slopes occasionally.

This trip is for sporty riders who ski/board very confidently and who are safe on any terrain. They must also be confident carrying skins in their rucksacks and are happy to accept ascents of up to 500 meters in altitude to reach extraordinary lines.

Cat-skiing in Georgia is, without a doubt, one of the coolest freeriding experiences in the world.

PROFESSIONAL CATSKI OPERATION

Our partner, Powderproject, is a professional Swiss-German organization that ensures the safety of everyone on every trip.

Powderproject cat ski operation uses two modern SnowCats and keeps one in reserve to get you to those sweet mountain spots.

A local guide from the Georgian Mountain Guide Association will lead you, so you can rest easy knowing you are in good hands and can entirely focus on what you do best, riding new lines.

EXPECT SNOW

And potential bluebird days.

Adjara in Georgia is a high-snowfall region of the Lesser Caucasus due to its proximity to the Black Sea.

Snowfall is abundant in early winter and decreases through January with more sunny days as the season progresses.

MOUNTAIN REFUGE

Eat. Sleep. Ski.

The accommodation hut is a remote mountain sanctuary located deep in the mountains. To reach it, you need to roam the hills by snowcat from the nearest road.

The lodge is located on a ridge at 2,400m, in an alpine zone, with excellent skiing straight from your door. The accommodation is simple; warm, cozy, and equipped with bunk-bed bedrooms, toilets, showers, a common area, dining space, kitchen, plus a living room with jaw-dropping views of the valley.

Cat Skiing in the mountains around Bakhmaro ranges in elevation from 1,800m to 2,755m. Above 2,100m, the mountains are tree-free.

The summit's size vary from 2,500 & 2,755m. However, the higher elevations are often wind-blown. Most of the skiing is between 1,800 to 2,300m. Each individual run is between 300 & 800m vertical in altitude.

'Japan-like' quality tree skiing runs on well-pitched slopes, and trees are abundant between 1800m - 2100m elevation.

It varies depending on the length of each run and the group's physical condition, but most groups average 12 runs per day.
