Heli-skiing Kamchatka

Kamchatka's scenery is like nothing you've seen before; at times so dramatic that it is impossible not to stop every couple of turns and gaze in amazement.

From the helicopter, you can visualize all kinds of ski areas: tree skiing at lower elevations, big volcanic faces, long steep couloirs, wide-open bowls, and long, mellow cruisers. We are not kidding around.

FAR EAST

Infinite runs.

Man ready for Heli-skiing in Kamchatka

In Russia's far east, the Kamchatka Peninsula is an isolated land as big as Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, combined with just 250,000 who live primarily in the capital Petropavlovsk. The magnificence of heli-skiing Kamchatka’s unexplored wilderness is unprecedented.

Out of the peninsula's 200 volcanoes, 29 are active, making it the greatest concentration of active volcanoes anywhere on earth.

Its low population density, few roads, and lack of large-scale development have left the vast majority of the Kamchatka peninsula untouched.

It is now secretly recognized as a giant playground for Heli-Skiing.

Kamchatka was radical. Skiing into an active volcano has to be hands down one of the highlights of my life!

Sensory overload

In 40+ years, we have found nothing (yet) that comes close to the otherworldly experience of Planet Kamchatka, and we’ve searched the world over twice! There are few words to describe the contrast, scale, and rare power of this implausible place.

Ski from the summit to sand at sunset before barbecuing on rivers of molten lava or racing 650kg bears down the mountain. One of these experiences of a lifetime would be astonishing. Having them multiple times a day is sensory overload in the most excellent possible way!

FIRE & ICE

What goes around?

The lodge rests in the peaceful valley of Paratunka, the valley of the Hot Springs. The helipad is directly in front of our ski Lodge.

The pilot and the mountain guides determine the exact count of daily runs, depending on weather and snow conditions.

Depending on the flight destination, your helicopter will collect you directly from the lodge or a short transfer to the heliport.

After skiing, you can choose how you après, in the hot springs or the sauna.

Land of the bear

Running free.

"I gladly recall my quickened heartbeat and the butterflies in my stomach."

That’s the sensation you get when being picked up directly from the hotel and flown by airship to the next run in this fascinating part of the world. In front of your eyes, an odd sight:

As far as the eye can see, from the rim of an active volcano to the Pacific coast, bears roam wildly between the valleys waiting for you to join them, to run free.
